La Milagrosa es una maravillosa

Love this casa and especially Mila and Bury, your hosts. If you\'re looking for a home away from home where you also have privacy and a cozy b&b experience in Trinidad, La Milagrosa is perfect. I\'ve stayed at a few places in Trinidad and liked them all but will keep coming back to La Milagrosa. There are two very pretty rooms, both 2nd story - one with its own covered porch overlooking the street where you can watch the action, cold beverage and cigar in hand. Both have their own bathroom with ample hot water, two very comfortable beds. There\'s a covered 3rd story roof top terrace with 360 degree views - perfect place to watch the sun set over the sea, watch the birds in the early morning and see the sun come up over the historic plaza mayor church and mountains to the east and north. Also the perfect spot to read a book or snooze in the hammock and where you\'ll enjoy your breakfasts and dinners. I can\'t say enough about the food - Bury is an amazing cook - from the criollo chicken, grilled pork or fish, fried platanos, sweet potatoes ... I had no idea what treats Cuban fare had and there are few places to get it like this anywhere on the island. The best part of my stay in Trinidad were practicing Spanish and Cuban humor with Mila, learning to salsa from Mila and Bury, and spending time with them and their family and friends in their kitchen. The house is located on a quiet street near the Parque Cespedes and about a 5-10 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor. There\'s a very nice bank for exchanging money, a Cadeca money changing shop, an internet/phone office and taxis around the Parque Cespedes which is about a block from the house. I intended to stay in Trinidad 5 days and ended up being there 8 - in large part because I knew I\'d miss my new Cuban family at La milagrosa ... Plus Trinidad really sucks you in - it\'s a beautiful town with a lot to do in and around town. If you go - make sure to ask Mila and Bury about the playita, the train and Valle de los Ingenios, and the waterfall at Topes de Collante, and where to go dancing in the evening.
